At French Funerals & Cremations, we believe in creating meaningful and personalized tributes that honor the unique lives of those we serve. A Life Celebration is more than a traditional funeral; it’s a heartfelt gathering that highlights the joy, passion, and special moments of the person being remembered. These events provide an opportunity to reflect on the uniqueness of an individual’s life, focusing on their achievements, passions, and the relationships they cultivated.
Recently, we had the privilege of organizing a special Celebration of Life for an individual who had a deep love for classic cars and proudly served our country. This event allowed us to blend personal details with heartfelt moments, creating an unforgettable tribute that truly captured the essence of their personality and contributions.
To celebrate their passion for cars, we organized a mini car show at our Wyoming & San Antonio location, featuring classic vehicles in the parking lot. In recognition of their service to our country, we also coordinated a special tribute with military honors. It was a heartfelt surprise for their spouse and loved ones, as the Air Force honors took place outside, framed by the classic cars. This unique combination of a car show and military salute created a moving and unforgettable tribute, leaving an impression on all who attended.
Watch a highlight from this celebration.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides several benefits to eligible veterans, including a burial in a national cemetery, a government-issued headstone or marker, a burial flag, and a Presidential Memorial Certificate. In some cases, the VA may also offer financial assistance for funeral expenses, including a burial allowance and reimbursement for transportation costs to a national cemetery. These benefits are designed to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families.
Most veterans who served honorably are eligible for military funeral honors, which include the folding and presentation of the U.S. flag to the next of kin and the playing of "Taps." In certain cases, a rifle salute may also be included. To be eligible, veterans generally must have been discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. Families can request military funeral honors through their funeral director, who will coordinate with the Department of Defense to arrange the service.
French Funerals & Cremations specializes in veteran funeral planning, offering personalized services that respect both military traditions and the unique personality of the veteran. We assist families in securing veteran benefits, arranging for military honors, and planning ceremonies that reflect the veteran's life, both in and out of service. Our team is experienced in navigating the complex paperwork and processes required to ensure veterans receive the honors to which they are entitled.
