William Frank Schear, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Bee Hive Homes in Rio Rancho, NM. Bill was the son of Albert and Amanda Schear. He was born in Binger, OK on Friday, March 17, 1933. He was the second oldest of nine children and grew up in the Roswell, NM area. He was very young when he enlisted in the US Army and was always a proud veteran that loved his country. After the Korean War, Bill moved to Silver City and met the love of his life, Jerrie Murphy. They were married on August 26, 1956, and they remained by each other’s side just as their vows said, “through good times and bad” until his death. They were members of the Gila Valley Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Bill worked for the telephone company in Silver City until he retired. He then opened his own telecommunications company where he served the local communities of southwest NM. He might be best remembered for his time and dedication to the Grant County fair. His love for agriculture and children kept him active at the fair for over 40 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jerrie Schear; his two daughters, Sandra Hale of Taylor, AZ and Lori Allen of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren, Dally Ward and wife, Michelle, Riley Ward and wife, Tiffany, Brent Allen, and Slade Allen and wife, Haley; and five great-grandchildren, Cursten, Peyton, Harper, Tate, and Stetson. There are three surviving siblings, two brothers, Jerry and Joe Schear; and one sister, Waneta Martin.
It was Bill’s wish to put the services on hold until at which time he and Jerrie’s lives could be celebrated together.
