Susan Linda Mellin

August 27, 1941 — August 4, 2019

Susan Mellin, age 77, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She entered this world on August 27, 1941 in Charleston, WV, born to Frank and Irene Lashinsky. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Mellin, whom were married for 50 years; son, Andy Fox; daughter, Robyn Mellin; and son, Fredric (Ric) Mellin. Susan has five grandchildren. Andy and Dara Fox have sons, Levi, Asher, and Judah. Their family resides in Manassas, VA. Ric and Leslie Mellin have sons, Joshua and Benjamin Mellin. They reside in Wesley Chapel, FL. Robyn also lives in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Susan was always known for her creativity. An avid artist, she would create beautiful paintings, soft sculptures, and most recently Wind Spirits in Albuquerque, NM. When it became too difficult to make art, Susan enjoyed spending time socializing with friends and traveling the country with Sun Tours. Her favorite adventures were mystery tours. Sometimes she was able to guess where they were traveling based on the clues; it always made her proud to get it right! Before moving to Albuquerque, Susan was a wonderful support to her children while they attended school. Susan and Jerry raised their family in North Miami Beach, FL. While the children attended school, Susan served as a volunteer, PTA, and band booster. She was often elected to run these organizations. Through her efforts, thousands of dollars were raised to benefit children in the community.

A Memorial Service was held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, FL. Susan was buried there on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
