Steve Garlach

Steve Garlach, age 57, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 5, 2017 after complications from surgery. He was born on July 2, 1959 in Norwich, England, and moved to the United States as an infant. Steve's father was in the Air Force, and they moved around until they settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Steve graduated from Eldorado High School in 1977. After high school, he attended TVI (CNM), earning an Associate of Arts in architectural drafting. For the last several years, he worked for the City of Albuquerque as a concrete inspector, and was respected by co-workers and contractors for his professionalism and consideration for others. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed many hobbies including riding his motorcycle, Shotokan karate (brown belt), collecting and restoring vinyl records, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marjo Garlach; son, Peter Garlach, and many extended family members. All who know him will cherish memories of his kindness, humor, and care for others.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montaño Road NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107.
