Sophie K. Farrell

Sophie K. Farrell, 97, born April 9, 1919 in Bessemer, Alabama and died October 21, 2016 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her children, Christine Farrell, David Farrell and wife, Cathrine, Kevin Farrell and wife, Cathy, Leslie Neice and husband, Mark, Mary Kay Mitchell and husband,Gary, Brian Farrell and fianceé, Maryann Mastromarino; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Farrell Jr; her parents, Jack and Mary Agnes Krahenbuhl and her brothers, Jack and Pat. Sophie was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She met her future husband at a USO Dance and married in November, 1945. Mrs. Farrell was a loving wife and mother, traveling the world with her husband as he served in the United States Air Force. She was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, CO where she was active in her church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, was an avid duplicate bridge player, and a member of the military widows organization. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2016 at John XXIII Catholic Community Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice, 8300 Constitution Ave NE, Albuquerque, or a Hospice of your choice.
