Sarah Gonzales, 78, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 8, 2017. She entered this world on October 25, 1938 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Candido and Rose Montoya. She is survived by her son, Sidney Gonzales; daughter, Lucille Lopez, spouse, David Lopez; daughter, Rachel Romero, spouse, Paul Romero; son, Vincent Gonzales, spouse, Celeste Gonzales; grandchildren, Candice Garnand, Sarah Romero, Isabella Romero and Santiago Gonzales; sister, Jeanette Chavez and brother Candido Montoya, JR. Sarah was proceeded in death by her husband of forty years, Manuel Gonzales; parents, Candido and Rose Montoya; sister, Irene Chavez; and brother, Louie Montoya.
Sarah was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, where she graduated from Albuquerque HS. In 1967, Sarah married the love of her life, Manuel, and together they raised four children and co-owned Early Bird Landscaping. Sarah took pride in supporting her husband with their business and volunteering in activities that her children and grandchildren participated in. Sarah left a lasting impression on everyone she touched and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Westside. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
