Samuel Russel Lockwald

Samuel "Sam" Lockwald was born in Denver, Colorado on November 19, 1990. Sam moved with his family to Albuquerque when he was 4. Sam attended grade school at Annunciation and then Assumption. He went to Eldorado High school and graduated from there in 2009. After working at a variety of jobs Sam attended CNM for 2 years while working full-time.

Sam long dreamed of moving to Boston and in August 2018 he moved there after being accepted to Wentworth Institute of Technology. After completing his first year at WIT it was discovered Sam had a brain tumor. Sam continued to study computer science full-time while undergoing treatments. He fought a courageous battle against all odds. In June of this year Sam returned to Albuquerque. God granted Sam six months of precious time with his family. Sam graced all of us with his good-nature, entertaining stories and quick wit until God called him home on November 26, 2021.

Sam will be greatly missed by Barbara and Mike Fuge, his mom and stepdad; Veronica and Dillon Gialouris, his sister and brother-in-law; Joy, his sister; and Mary Evelyn Stewart (Mamita), his grandmother as well as extended family and friends. We are very thankful to all who have prayed for Sam and helped out the family in countless ways over these past 2 1/2 years.

A Rosary and Resurrection Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Prince of Peace, 12500 Carmel Ave., NE in Albuquerque at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. After the interment there will be a reception at FRENCH-Wyoming.
