Ruby S. Rivera, age 90, our precious mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Ruby was a wonderful, loving. glamorous lady with a heart of gold. She was known for her generosity, friendliness and her caring spirit. She was a stranger to no one.
Ruby enjoyed all crafts and was involved in making bears with the “Hug a Bear for Mountain Bell Pioneers” and donated them to the children at Carrie Tingley Hospital. She was a volunteer pink lady for over 20 years at Rehoboth Christian Hospital in Gallup and Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. For many years, most people knew her for her delicious food she cooked in Ruby’s Kitchen.
Ruby is survived by her three daughters, Judy Rivera and Joyce Rivera, both of Albuquerque, and Jan Moore of Houston, TX, whom she built her life around; her three grandchildren, Walker Allen Moore, Chandler Allison Moore of Chicago, IL and Nicolette Marie Trujillo of Albuquerque, who she adored immensely. She is also survived by her brother, John Blea Jr. of Albuquerque; sisters, Sylvia Radosevich of Beaumont, MS, Erlinda Mirabal, Emma Gutierrez, both of Albuquerque; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad Rivera; father, Juan Jose Blea; and mother, Deloritas Blea.
Services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Reception will be held at the Marriott Albuquerque, 2101 Louisiana Blvd. NE.
