Rodney Davert

After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Rodney Davert, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the age of 69 at his home in Edgewood, NM. Rodney was born Tuesday, April 25, 1950 in Rosebud TX to the late Darwin and Wanda Davert. Rodney was the beloved husband of Becky Davert; loving father to Michael King, David Davert, Kristina Davert and Jennifer Carson. Rodney also left behind grandchildren, Miguel King, Mekhii King and Daisy Davert; his sisters, DeeDee Davert, Darla Davert; and brother to the late Jack Davert. Rodney was also a loving uncle to Shawn Smith, Eric Smith and Ashley Davert.

Rodney was best known for his occupation he loved, being a truck driver, his motorcycle and ZZ Top. Rodney proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with the US Navy, also was a graduate of ITT Technical Institute. Rodney requested to be cremated and for a burial at sea, which will be performed by the US Navy aboard a ship on deployment. There will be no public services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or the Wounded Warriors, which he supported for a number of years.
