Rita (Anita) Roybal
Passed away on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family. Rita was a very dedicated and wonderful mother who always put her children first when caring for her family. She had been a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1960.
Rita is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bonifacio Roybal; daughter, SanDee Lyons of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Gina and Mark Gohl of Carlsbad, CA; son, Ronald and Cecilia Roybal of Espanola, NM; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Frank and Corrine Roybal, sister-in-law, Freda Vasquez; sister-in-law, Loretta Olmstead, sister-in-law, Pat Roybal; and many nieces and nephews.
Rita had a real special relationship with her cousin, Roberta and husband Orlando Chavez of Colorado Springs, CO.
Also touching Rita's life was her brother Julian; two sisters, Juanita, and Gloria; and stepbrothers, stepsisters, and cousins.
She retired from Sandia Laboratories after 23 years of service; born in Banning, CA; was a Raiders fan; loved animals; and enjoyed camping.
Rita’s family would like to thank the staff at Roadrunner Hospice and at The Village at Alameda and everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and for the love bestowed upon her during her journey home.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 9:00 a.m., at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Burial will follow the mass at Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albuquerque.
