Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen M. Lisle; son, Paul D. Lisle; daughter, Vanessa L. Leeson; stepson, Kenneth A. Galvan; and four grandchildren, Daryl J. Leeson, Rachel L. Leeson, Eric J, Leeson and Ryan K. Leeson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. Lisle and Rose Elizabeth “Betty” Lisle; and his first wife, Karlita G. Lisle.
Paul was a man among men, like no other. He grew up in Portland, Oregon, received his degree from Portland University, then started his Navy career rather unusually. He was first enlisted, then finished his career as a full Captain, always regretting that he got passed over for Admiral. He also worked for the National Security Agency in the ‘60’s, was a regular James Bond. In the late ‘70’s, he went to work for the Federal government in Washington, D.C. until he had his first triple heart bypass and “retired” back to Albuquerque, NM. In Albuquerque, he was still very active in the Naval Reserve, Commander of NWEF for quite some time. He also became a General Contractor, invested in real estate, amassed a huge coin collection (among his many, many collections), and eventually became the largest non-storefront gun dealer in New Mexico. A man like no other. Paul was a highly intelligent, stubborn, highly opinionated man, well-loved by many. His enemies feared him. His loss leaves a huge hole in many, many hearts.
RIP Paul C. Lisle, Dad.
