Michael Anthony Moreno

Michael Anthony Moreno, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2022, after a battle with cancer.

Michael Anthony Moreno was 73 years old. He was born on August 1, 1949 in L.A., California, son of and preceded in death by his father, Samuel and mother, Flora Moreno. Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many!

Michael leaves behind a wife, Yolanda Moreno; son, George Chavez, Jr.; daughter, LeeAnn Garcia; son, Christopher Chavez; and son, Joseph Zamora, Sr. Michael had six grandchildren, his most beloved grandson being Joseph Zamora, Jr. Michael also leaves behind four siblings: three brothers, Mario Moreno, Armando (Bebe) Moreno, and Rick Moreno. He also leaves behind one sister, Pat (Tencha) Baiz; along with many other family members and friends who were very dear to him.

Michael retired after 29 years of service from the City of Albuquerque. He worked in corrections starting in food service, correctional officer and finished up in city security.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at FRENCH-Westside. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please join the family for a Reception at FRENCH-Westside following the interment.
