Michael Chavez, 69, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. He entered this world on May 25, 1947, in Capitan, NM, born to Mariano (deceased) and Lucy Chavez. Michael honorably served in the NM Army National Guard and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He worked for the Albuquerque Publishing Co. for 41 years, retiring in 2008.
He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Judy Chavez; son, Michael Chavez, and wife, Elle; beloved granddaughter, Amelia; brothers, Joseph and William; and sisters, Cindy and Sandra.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming with a Celebration of Life following at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Chavez, William Chavez, Joshua Abeyta, Carl Garcia, Frankie Chavez and Paul Armijo.
