Mary Louise Hilderbrand entered this world in 1925. She was born to Gervis L. and Mildred M. Hilderbrand in Enid, OK. She entered her eternal rest on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Mary Louise was truly a forerunner of women in her time. She attended Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College to complete her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1947 and her Master of Science in 1954. Mary Louise taught middle school math for 38 years in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mary Louise was active in the Nazarene Church all of her life. She served on church boards, taught Sunday School, led the music worship, and ran the sound system. Mary Louise was active in Singles Ministries and Mission Work. Her positive attitude drew many to be her friend and to love her. Mary Louise was a world traveler and enjoyed trips with her mother, sister, and many friends. She has lived for the last seven years in Mi Casa at La Vida Llena. Following eye surgery, Mary Louise was no longer able to live independently.
Mary Louise has no known surviving relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and sister, Norma. Mary Louise will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, February 24, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at La Vida Llena Retirement Community Chapel, 10501 Lagrima De Oro Rd. NE 87111. Interment will follow in Oklahoma at the Woodward Cemetery.
