Mary Ann Adams

d. January 5, 2017

Mary Ann Adams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, retired registered nurse, and devout Catholic, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 5, 2017.
She was born to Frank and Josephine Ryan on August 24, 1933 in Pinos Altos, Southwest New Mexico, in the house her grandfather built. She grew up with her much older sister and brother, Margaret Mary and James.
A straight-A student from kindergarten through nursing school, she practiced as a Public Health nurse in Albuquerque. Mary Ann married her high school sweetheart, Lewis Folkner, who blessed her with five sons.
After his death, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Jack Adams, M.D., with whom, as a blended family, she nurtured and loved ten children. Always beautiful, stoic and dignified, ever-independent, brave and compassionate, she was a pillar of strength and a spiritual guide for her family and loved ones. Even in her last hours, she showed the grace and faith for which she was known, and she will forever be missed and cherished.
Mary Ann is survived by eight of her ten children including Michael and his daughter Samantha, her husband Arlyn and their children, Madison, Clare & Anson; Sheri, her husband Gary, their eldest daughter Marissa and her husband Josh, and their youngest daughter Briana; Roby and his wife Boo and their daughters Heather and Meghan; Mark and his wife Susan, their eldest daughter Erin and her husband Brandon, their middle daughter Jacqueline and her husband David and their sons Ryan and Luke, and their youngest daughter Jessica; Chuck, Holly, Stephen and John Christopher.

Mary Ann and Jack were preceded in death by two sons, John and David. Mary Ann is survived by John's wife Keli and children Valori, who is expecting a baby girl in March, and Michael.
Mary Ann was known for her dedication to her family, her faithfulness, her commitment to Annunciation Parish, her passion for singing and cooking, and for, among other things, maintaining one of the largest, private collections of nativity sets in the United States. She was such a special person to so many and she is and forever will be loved.
