Maria Valeria (Gutierrez) Sisneros

Maria Valeria Gutierrez-Sisneros, age 85, of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was born in Santa Rosa, NM, on Saturday, April 14, 1934, to Gonzalo Gutierrez & Donaciana Ortega.

She met the man of her dreams and married at age 18 in Santa Rosa, NM, to the late Eduardo Sisneros, on Saturday, December 13, 1952. Her compadres were Carlos and Maggie Gutierrez.

Maria had a passion for bingo, fishing, and the senior citizens center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gonzalo and Donaciana Gutierrez; her loving husband of 43 years, Eduardo Sisneros; and sons, Freddy Sisneros and Jerry Sisneros; her brothers, Carlos Gutierrez, Manual Gutierrez, and Joe Gutierrez; her sister, Ramona Gutierrez-Jiron; her son-in-law, Juan Baca; and her special niece, Veronica Gutierrez.

Maria is survived by her brothers, Tony Gutierrez and Gene Gutierrez (Ernestina); her children; sons, Jake Sisneros (Della), and Edward Sisneros (Trish); mother of Edward’s children, Geraldine Romero (Paul); daughters, Beverly Sisneros-Baca and Glenda Sisneros-Miller (Richard); along with granddaughters, Maria Elena Montañez (Ivan) and Estrella Sisneros; grandsons, Aaron Aragon, Tyler Miller, and Richard Miller; and numerous nephews & nieces.

She enjoyed her past time by being a go-getter selling many different things and along with cruising around Santa Rosa, NM.

All services will be held in Santa Rosa, NM, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 439 S 3rd Street, Santa Rosa, NM, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The Rosary is at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Reception will follow at the Santa Rosa Convention Center, 1085 Blue Hole Rd, Santa Rosa, NM.

Pallbearers will be Arsenio “Archie” Gutierrez, Jessie Gutierrez, Evaristo Sisneros, Andy Urban, Abel Chavez, and Ray Zamora. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christian Chavez, Derrick Chavez, Christopher Rodarte, Javante Chavez, and Devin Chavez.
