Delgado, Juan Francisco (Frank), Jr.
Juan Francisco (Frank) Delgado, Jr., beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in Albuquerque on November 9. Frank brought his family to Albuquerque in 1967 from El Paso, Texas, to work with the Bureau of Indian Affairs from which he retired from in 1988. He then went on to work for the gaming industry at Santa Ana Casino and then at Sandia Casino where he worked until March of 2016.
He was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Church for 50 years, a member of the Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus. In October, Frank was recognized as parishioner of the year from St. Charles Borromeo Church and was honored by the Archbishop of Santa Fe at a Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis Assisi in Santa Fe.
His passion in life was spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and loved Notre Dame football. He will be greatly missed by all those lucky enough to have met him.
He is survived by his children, Dora Delgado-Raby and spouse Ralph-David Raby, Frank Delgado and spouse Barbara, Patricio Delgado and Maribel Delgado; his grandchildren, Frankie Delgado and spouse Candice Lovato-Delgado, Gabriella Delgado, Mirea Delgado, Drake Delgado; great-grandchildren, Maya and Derek Delgado; siblings, Carlos, TriniAnn, and David Delgado. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurora Delgado and grandson, Diego David Delgado.
Services in his memory will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place, SE, Albuquerque, NM. A Rosary will be said in his honor on Wednesday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, followed by Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to cancer research at the Vfoundation.com.
