Joseph Earl Barfoot

Joseph E. Barfoot age 79 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, surrounded by family.

Joe is proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Earl Barfoot Sr. and Doris Barfoot; his first wife Sharon Lea; and his brother Richard Barfoot.

Joe is survived by his wife of 44 years, Geraldine Barfoot; his sisters, Susan Mindenbergs (Juris) and Kathy Barfoot (Doug Ritter); his sons, John (Theresa), Daniel; and daughter, Christina Tyson (Chad). While Joe was married to Sharon, he helped her raise daughter Kim Wiley Miller (Don) and son Randall Wiley (Kelly Shumake). While Joe was married to Geraldine, he raised son Joseph Mullings (Kimberly) and daughter Lytisha Mullings (Shelly Rooney).

Joe was born on Thursday, May 23,1940, in Los Angeles, California to Joseph Earl Barfoot Sr. and Doris Barfoot. He received his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. He had a long successful career in engineering starting with Boeing Aerospace following in his father's footsteps, continuing his distinguished career path at Eberline in Santa Fe, NM where he met is wife Geraldine and completing his esteemed profession as Chief Electrical Engineer of over 20 years at Orion International Technologies.

Joe was a devoted husband, father and was a proud grandfather and "Papa" of Jessie Miller, Austin Miller, Daniel Wiley, Estevan Lujan, Nathaniel Barfoot, Mercedes Barfoot, Lee Barfoot, Colby Tyson, Benjamin Barfoot, Ryan Barfoot, Alexis Tyson, Matthew Tyson, Uriah Mullings and 8 great grandchildren. Joe was an honorary grandfather to Ethan Brech, Connor and Bailey Fuchs and was loving grandfather to all of his fur grandbabies.

Joe had a passion for hang gliding, competive cycling and extreme off-roading.

Memorial services to honor Joe's life will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University

An Open House Reception with food and drink will be held that afternoon between 1:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m at FRENCH - Wyoming
