John Melia, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his sister, Constance Melia, 96; his children, Terrence Melia and wife, Cary, Gerard Melia and wife, Melinda, Paula Melo and husband, Ernest; his grandchildren, John Melia and wife, Amy, Matthew Melia and wife, Krista, Adam Melia and wife, Andrea, Kathleen Melia and husband, John, Jacob, Claire, Andrea Melo and Erin Melia. He was also survived by his great grandchildren, Kenley and Blue Melia and Josephine Melia; along with many other family and friends. John was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Dolores and his son, John. Mr. Melia was a patient man with a great sense of humor and also had a real passion for music. He served in the United States Navy during WW II. John was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and very active in the choir. He was employed at Pitney Bowes before retiring after 30 years. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, June 21, 2015, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 22, 2015,11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
