Jerry Alan Lopez

October 31, 1941 — September 8, 2022

Jerry Alan Lopez was an entrepreneur, businessman, son, brother, husband, father, partner, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born on Friday, October 31, 1941, in Raton, New Mexico, to Jose Joaquin and Conrada Sandoval Lopez, along with seven beloved siblings, all of whom he called his favorite: Dora, Margo, Irene, Bertha, Elsie, Lucy, and Junior. The home they shared as children was a humble one, with one room and a dirt floor.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jerry met, fell in love with, and married the first great love of his life, Consuelo Martinez. They had two children together, Angel Lopez Godfrey and Jerry Abel Lopez, before separating after 15 years of marriage. Jerry and Connie remained devoted friends for the rest of their lives, even in difficult times. Subsequently, Jerry met Virginia Rothfeldt, and they became the proud parents of their daughter, Cecilia Burton Johnson.

Throughout the course of Jerry's journey, he created many businesses, always providing support for his family, while maintaining his resilience, hope, and determination. At a motivational conference, he met Ana Cecilia Orellana, the last great love of his life, with whom he shared a treasured relationship for 24 years. Among the many gifts Ana brought to Jerry was his stepson, Alvaro Manuel Rodriquez. Jerry and Ana lived in Los Angeles, and then Las Vegas, Nevada, sharing wonderful adventures, a beautiful home, and creating many successful endeavors together.

Jerry was a traditional gentleman -- intelligent, self-educated, kind, generous, funny, and a devoted pursuer of excellence. He was a teacher and mentor for many, including motivational speaker, Alex Dey, passing along his wisdom, knowledge, and secrets for success. He loved God, early morning coffee with Ana, time with his family and friends, good food, nice suits, country and Mexican music, and Lincoln cars. He will be dearly missed by the many who loved him.

A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, September 20, 2022, 6:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of the Mass, Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3424 Fourth St. NW.
