Fred Jerome Gregg, 84, died on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his home in Albuquerque surrounded by his family. He was born Tuesday, September 21, 1937 in Albuquerque, NM to Janey and Bernie Gregg. Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Summers Gregg; his sister, Judith Tanner; brother, James Gregg and wife, Laurie; his two children, Barbara CampBell and husband, Joseph, and Peter Gregg and his wife, Paula; three grandchildren, Timothy CampBell, Audrey CampBell, and Jamie CampBell; and many nieces and nephews.
Fred grew up in Magdalena, NM and attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM. He received his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and a master's degree from New Mexico State University. Fred was a lifelong educator, he was an art and history teacher in Tularosa, NM, and an administrator in Santa Rosa, Moriarty, NM, and Bullhead City, AZ.
He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge, serving a term as the Master of Edgewood Lodge in 2007. Fred was also a member of the Scottish Rite Masons in NM and had obtained his 32 degree.
Fred enjoyed music, traveling, golfing, baseball, and playing cards. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH-University with a Reception to follow.
