Eva Jean Chavez, age 68, passed away April 2, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM.
Eva lived a meaningful life full of love, both given and received, guided by compassion and respect for everyone no matter their station in life.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and a very special friend to anyone lucky enough to know her. Eva was a gentle, humble, thoughtful, kind, and loving soul and will be missed and remembered in our hearts. She was generous to a fault and would go out of her way to help her family and friends in any way she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis Garcia and Natividad; and brother, Richard. She is survived by her husband of 44 years of marriage, Charles; son, Charles Joseph; and two daughters that consider Eva as their second mother, Sharla and Shyanne Biefeld. She is also survived by her sisters, Vangie, Elena, Lidia, Beth and Linda; brothers, Robert and Louie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva graduated from Albuquerque High in 1966 and attended TVI. She was a Medical Receptionist at BCMC (UNMH) and worked for other private doctor's offices. While managing a marriage, household, and career she enjoyed going to craft shows and cooking for her family and friends. She also liked travel and the outdoors.
Her genealogical ancestry has been traced back to 1203 AD in Toledo Spain, by her husband Charles, who has researched it for the past 35 Years. She is also a direct decedent of the original Spanish colonizers of this state, which was named by Don Juan de Onate in 1598 as New Mexico.
Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time of sorrow. Your kindness will always be remembered. Her family also appreciates all the gentleness and care extended to Eva by the medical staff, nurses, and doctors at the Lovelace Medical Center on Martin Luther King Blvd, especially those on the 4th floor and Gentiva Hospice.
Eva's life will be celebrated by her family and friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, 10:30 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
