Eileen Wilshusen died of a heart attack after a long bout with breast cancer at age 66. She was with her husband, Al, the love of her life, when she passed.
Eileen was born to Delbert and Mary Pierson, who preceded her death. Eileen was raised in Boulder, CO with three sisters. She married Al Wilshusen on May 31, 1969. They moved to Albuquerque, NM where they raised two boys, Patrick and David.
Eileen was full of life, spending her days quilting, reading, working out at the gym with friends and granddaughters, and tackling cancer - not once, but twice head on, with vigor. She collected all things Elvis Presley, and loved taking road trips with Al in their convertible - always with the top down, even in the middle of winter!
Eileen is survived by her husband Al Wilshusen; children David Wilshusen and partner Jen Keppers, Patrick Wilshusen and wife Belinda; grandchildren Brittany and Amber. She is also survived by her three sisters, Karen Kiner, Elaine Waldau and husband Larry, and Debbie Hudson and husband Bernard and their families.
Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to travel and visit family, including Al's sister Kay Book and husband John, when in Colorado.
Cremation has taken place and private memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions may be made to a breast cancer or a heart research charity of your choice.
