Dorothy Mae Cook

Dorothy Mae Cook, age 92, loving sister, aunt, and dedicated member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was called to her heavenly home on July 18, 2019. Dorothy was known for her love of people, devotion to family, and love of music.

“Aunt Dot”, as she was lovingly referred to, received her master’s degree from Prairie View A & M and went on to educate many elementary school children in the Texas Public School System.

As a servant of the Lord, she sang in the church choir from Macedonia Baptist to Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. If the church doors were open, she entered in to worship and serve.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mayme Green; her husband, Herman Cook; her brothers, Walter and Marcus Green; and sister, Sherry Green. She is survived by her sisters, Eleanor (Jim) Jones, Joy (Lenton) Malry; three nephews and three nieces; six great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews. She also touched the lives of many other extended family and friends.

We will carry her spirit and love of life with us always.
