Denise Snyder (Berry) Hoffman

June 4, 1948 — December 7, 2020

Denise S. Hoffman, 72, died after a short illness on Monday, December 7, 2020, in Albuquerque, NM.

Denise is survived by her husband, James C. Hoffman, M.D. also of Albuquerque; their two children, Charles Hoffman, Esq. of Claremont, CA and Cynthia Lipson of San Jose, CA; and her sister, Candida Berry of Alcalde, NM. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hoffman; and son-in-law, Jon Lipson; and grandson, Benjamin Lipson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Roy Berry of Tulsa, OK.

She was born in Great Falls, MT and moved with her family several times during her childhood until they settled permanently in Tulsa, OK where she attended public schools and graduated from Central High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography.

It was at the University of Oklahoma where she met her husband of 48 years. When he completed his medical training, they moved to Wayzata, MN where they raised their two children. When her husband retired, they bought property in Abiquiu, and lived there, establishing Rio Chama Vineyards and volunteering in local nonprofits. In 2015, they moved to Albuquerque to be more centrally located because Denise and her husband were enthusiastic travelers both nationally and internationally.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to one of her favorite charities, the Espanola Valley Humane Society.
