Denise Joanne (Chesterfield) Farr

Denise J. Farr, age 71, passed away on April 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born in Detroit, MI, to Annette Rita Chesterfield and Orville Jack Chesterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annette Rita and Jack Chesterfield, and brother Donald. Denise is survived by her spouse Thomas J. Farr; daughter Jennifer L. Hoskin and spouse Bobby Hoskin; son Shawn M. Farr and spouse Erika Farr, and three grandchildren Ava, Preston, and Mathias, all of Albuquerque; her siblings Diane Kozel and David Chesterfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Denise graduated from Dominican High School and then attended Business College for two years and went on to become a legal secretary for two law firms in Detroit, MI, before applying for a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. Denise met her husband at FBI Headquarters and worked at FBI Headquarters and the Newark Division for almost five years before starting a family and moving to Albuquerque in April 1992 on a job transfer. Denise enjoyed traveling and being a homemaker, taking care of her children. Denise worked for Kelly Services in Albuquerque for five years setting up presentations for various companies and was a Volunteer at Lovelace Women's Hospital as a Cuddler at the New Infant Care Unit (NICU) for over ten years and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the newborns grow and develop and finally go home with their parents. Denise volunteered her time at numerous activities at church ministries.

On Friday, May 6, a Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m., with Mass following at 11:30 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Avenue NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM, at a later date.
