George 'David' Rodriguez
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George 'David' Rodriguez, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on August 14, 1967, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and passed away to be with his Heavenly Father on February 9, 2022, at age 54.
David is preceded in death by his son, Brett David Rodriguez of Albuquerque; grandparents, Ramon and Anne Serna of Las Cruces and grandparents Joe and Vestina Rodriguez of Albuquerque. David is survived by his loving son, Tyler James Rodriguez (Dominique Nunez); his parents, George T. and Stella Rodriguez; his sisters, Christine and Georgina Rodriguez; his nieces, Rachael Rhoads and Tiana Koppenhaver; his nephews, Ryan Rhoads and Derek Koppenhaver; and his "brothers from another mother," Juaquin Zamora and John Reed. He also leaves behind many cherished uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, colleagues, and his beloved dogs, Sasha and Zeus.
David graduated from Manzano High School in 1985. He worked for and recently retired from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority as the Geographical Information Systems Coordinator.
David's enthusiasm for cars (especially Mopars), hot rods, and car shows led him to meet many in the car community. David loved music, and frequently attended concerts and personally excelled at playing guitar and drums. David enjoyed fishing and watching sports in his free time, and loved to watch his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, play each season.
A private service will be held for the family, with a celebration of life event to be announced for a later date this year where we hope to see all his many friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Animal Humane New Mexico in David's name.
