Dale P. Shenk

Dale P. Shenk, age 78, died Monday, January 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Penelope; children, Kevin Shenk of CA, and Karen (Mark) Walker of NC; grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth; step-sister, Mary Grace Shenk of PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan (Bonnie) Hoffman, John (Carole) Hoffman, and Stanley Hoffman. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Alverta Nein Shenk; and stepbrother, David Shenk. He was born in 1938 in Lebanon, PA and after graduation from high school entered the United States Navy where he proudly served from 1956 to 1959. Dale graduated from Penn. State and moved to Albuquerque where he worked at Sandia Labs until his retirement. He and Penelope belonged to Asbury United Methodist Church. Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dale's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
