Connie Marie (White) Thelen

Connie Marie Thelen, age 75, passed away to be with her Heavenly Father on October 21, 2022. Her husband and two daughters were by her side at her Albuquerque, NM home.

Connie was born on March 2, 1947. She grew up in a countryside Virginia home with her parents Horace Garland and Hazel Marie White and her three younger siblings Jean, Buddy, and Jerry. Upon graduating from high school, she left her countryside home in Virginia and moved to Minnesota where she studied nursing and met her husband, Donald Thelen. The two eventually settled in Farmington, NM where they raised two daughters, Melanie, and Tara. Connie devoted her life to her family and loved spending time with her granddaughters. She was known for her compassion and kindness. She believed in and followed the words of Jesus Christ, her Savior. She traveled around the world and had lifelong friends. She had a great sense of humor and would engage in a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed the simple things in life and saved the best of everything for everyone else, especially her family. She enjoyed music, board games and books. Although there are no words that can fully express her beauty, generosity and kindness, Connie will forever be remembered by her values and the memories, friendship, and love she shared with all.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Horace Garland White; mother, Hazel Marie White; and brother, Buddy White.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Thelen; daughters, Melanie Thelen and Tara Thelen; granddaughters, Teagan Mills and Tylar Montoya; sister, Jean Tabor and brother, Jerry White; as well as, many extended family and friends.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00am on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
