Charles "Chuck" DeWayne Spurgeon

Charles DeWayne Spurgeon, age 57, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Beginning his career working in the family bakery, he built his work ethic toward customer service in the hospitality industry. He grew in the hotel industry as a sales manager at several local hotels and continued to deliver excellent service throughout his career. He was active in local politics serving on various boards as well as running for Rio Rancho City Council. He was an avid concert goer, especially classic rock and the band Styx. He believed in being kind to everyone he met and always looked at the most positive side of life.He is survived by wife Christine (Brown) Spurgeon, son; Matthew Charles Spurgeon, daughter-in-law Jacklyn (Stanford) Spurgeon son: Joshua Michael Spurgeon, daughter-in-law Bethany Spurgeon, daughter; Hannah Marie Spurgeon, mother; Mary (George) Spurgeon, brother; William Lloyd Spurgeon, sister-in-law Lisa (Velasco) Spurgeon, sister Lena Kay (Spurgeon) Bacca, brother-in-law; Michael Bacca and numerous Great Aunts and Uncles along with Nieces and Nephews. Proceeded in death by father; Lloyd A Spurgeon, sister; Deborah A (Spurgeon) Earickson, and nephew; Robert Lloyd Spurgeon.

Charles will loved and missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Westside
