Charles Lee "Charlie" Jones

d. August 16, 2016

Charles (Charlie) Jones, 74, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2016, surrounded by family. Charlie spent his life working as superintendent and eventually vice president of J.W. Jones Construction, during which time he built highways, roads, and bridges throughout his home state of New Mexico. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, John W. Jones and Donna Carson.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, contagious laughter, and his legendary green chile stew and fried chicken. While he was famously stubborn (as are most of the Joneses), he never hesitated to help somebody in need. His family will remember Charlie as a good husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who in his later years enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren who loved him immensely.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Gayle; four children, Krista Tricarico (Andrew), Stephanie Tallent (Brent), Ryan (Cassandra) and Tori Peters (Chris); 11 grandchildren; stepmother, Patricia Jones; sister, Kay Shollenbarger (Ray); brother, John Carroll; two half-sisters, Linda Jones Mullinax (Bob) and Teresa Jones; several cousins and nieces. He also leaves behind his dog Brando, and Smokey the Cat.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming in Albuquerque. We welcome friends and family to join us afterwards for a reception, which will be held at a separate location.
