June 6, 1950 — January 3, 2017

Candice LaVonne Skarsgard Pearson, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Roger Pearson of Albuquerque; and numerous loving sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Candice was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Arnold; and her brother, Dale Skarsgard.
Candy was born on June 6, 1950, in Minot, ND. She was raised in a small farming community, Makoti, where her love for horses, baton twirling, academic excellence and especially for family and friends flourished. Often she would lead local parades atop her beloved horse, Chevelle. She attended the University of North Dakota and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1972. She was a revered educator in the Albuquerque Public Schools for 25 ½ years. Upon retirement, she was employed at GardenSwartz Team Sales. Candy was witty, fun, authentic -to quote a loving cousin- and a joy to all who were blessed to have known her.
