Betty (Hansen) Moroney, born in Brush, Colorado, grew up in Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1952 and went on to teach in elementary school prior to having her own family. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1973.
Betty passed away February 7, 2019 at the age of 89 after a 5-year battle with breast cancer.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Moroney; brother Don Hansen; sister Alice (Jack) Marvel.
She is survived by son Bryan Moroney, daughter Sharon (Kevin) Curlee, grandson Aaron Curlee and granddaughter Hallie Curlee; sister Margaret (Jack) Scanlan of Denver, CO sister Elsie (John) Cookson of Denison, IA, brother Robert Hansen of Wray, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Cremation has taken place and she is interred at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque beside her husband.
