Bernice W. Reed

d. January 27, 2017

In loving memory of our beautiful mother, Bernice W. Reed, who passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017. Mom lived a long and good life surrounded by loving family and friends.
Mom was born in Woodward, OK. During her life, she lived in Colorado, Washington D.C., Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Chicago, and Albuquerque. Albuquerque was the place she called home for the last fifty years. Mom loved to entertain, and was known for throwing a good party. She loved to play bridge, gamble in Las Vegas, travel, and spend time at the family summer cabin in Colorado. Mother was involved with the League of Women Voters in Kansas City, a volunteer at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, a member of Assistance League in Albuquerque, and sang in the choir at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Mom had a sharp mind and a quick wit, and she loved to dance and sing. Mom and Dad were married to each other for over fifty years. They were devoted to each other with a never ending love. They brought love, life, and laughter to each other, and we hope they are now reunited.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred C. Reed in 2000. She leaves behind her son, Alfred W. Reed of Albuquerque; and daughter and son-in-law, Lynn E. Reed-Campbell and James Campbell, both of Austin, TX. A private service of remembrance will be held at her home.
