Angel Mary Tafoya

Angel M. Tafoya (28) of Albuquerque was called home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2022. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 18, 1993. Angel is survived by her mother Kathryn (Trujillo) and stepfather Jeffrey Reed; her father Steven and stepmother Rebecca Tafoya; brother Johnathan Tafoya, sister Stevana Tafoya, six stepsiblings (Alyssa Baca, Lauren Kopec, and Austin, Abbie, Tyler, and Kyle Reed); and numerous other family members. She is predeceased by her stepsister Antionette Romo. A rosary service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 10th at 6:00 PM. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 11th at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Steven Tafoya, Johnathan Tafoya, Stevana Tafoya, David Padilla, Eric Trujillo and Andrew Rocha. Honorary pallbearers are Placido Trujillo and David Torres.

From a young age, Angel always dreamed of riding horses and eight years ago she found Loving Thunder Therapeutic Riding, Inc. who helped her fulfill that dream. Angel also participated in adaptive sports and recently enjoyed rock climbing. Throughout the month of May, Angel’s friends and colleagues from the JCC of Greater Albuquerque will be collecting donations in Angel’s honor for the Adaptive Sports Program New Mexico at https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=407595798046125&set=a.387745766697795 .
