A Memorial Service to celebrate Andy's life will be officiated by Jon Kuncel on Friday, April 9, 2021, 2:00 p.m at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution Ave. NE (masks and social distancing will be required). A private interment ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.
Andy discovered a love for sports from an early age. At four he began playing T-ball and soccer. He especially loved baseball and basketball, which he continued to play both in middle and high school. In 2013, he was on the East Mountain Baseball team that took the State NMAA Championship. He graduated from East Mountain High School in 2014. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was involved in choir and youth groups and he enjoyed traveling with the youth group on mission trips.
After high school graduation Andy joined the U.S. Army and National Guard (2014-2020) and went to basic training at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma and then to Advanced Individual Training in Georgia at Ft. Gordon. To list a few of his most honorable distinctions, in 2015 he was awarded with the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious achievement while assigned as a Maintenance Specialist during annual training at the Sustainment Training center. Andy also obtained his CertTEC Certification placing him in an elite group of technicians nationwide. Andy was diligent, driven, and courageous. He put 100 percent into all that he did, and he loved his work and career at Larry H. Miller Auto Dealerships where he started as a salesman and was quickly promoted to manager.
Andy was kind, caring, strong, and respectful. His favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees, Miami Heat, and the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his friends and family. He loved animals and had two dogs, as well as the many pets he and Emma had as kids. When he visited his family, he always hugged when he arrived and when he left. Those hugs will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
