Abel DeVargas

Abel De Vargas Sr. born Wednesday, August 4, 1926 in Chimayo, NM, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020. He was born in Chimayo, NM but resided in Albuquerque for many years. Abel was born to Ezequiel Vargas and Juanita De Aguero and was the eldest of ten children; six sisters, three brothers. Abel was preceded in death by his wife Alexandria of 71yrs; sons, Abel Jr. Samuel, Urban and Freddie. He is survived by his only daughter, Nancy and her husband Norris; sons, Toby and wife Dorothy, Robert and Mary, Randy and Vivian and Raymond DeVargas. Abel has a total of 124 grandchildren, including greatgrandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Abel was a brilliant faithful man of God and devoted father. He established Abe's Produce in 1949 and retired 40 plus years later. Abel’s love and contagious smile will truly be missed. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna Rd NW. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery
