Zabelle (Kandarian) Knadjian
March 22, 1919 — September 9, 2017
Zabelle Knadjian, 98, beloved mother and wife, was called to her eternal resting place on September 9, 2017. She started this world on March 22, 1919 in Modesto, CA, born to George and Stella Kandarian.
She with her husband and brother-in-law and sister-in-law started and successfully ran Knadjian’s Rugs and Carpets, providing fine wool carpeting and rare Persian hand-knotted rugs for the New Mexico area for over 50 years (1954- 2008). She was, also, an expert seamstress in charge of the custom drapery department of Knadjian’s furnishing beautifully crafted draperies to compliment many homes and businesses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; her sisters, Rose Harabedian, and Dora Hovivian; her brother, Edward Kandarian; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Belle Knadjian. She is survived by her daughters, Janis and Patricia Knadjian; and many delightful nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH – University. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
