Yvonne L. Tafoya, of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, March 11, 2017. Serving Christ and others was Yvonne's primary passion. Yvonne was a registered nurse for over thirty years, highlighting her distinguished career by receiving the high honor of being named Pride Nurse at Presbyterian's Anna Kaseman Hospital. Pursuing the other passion in her life, she earned a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling and served many times as a missionary in Africa, Central America, and the United States.
Yvonne enjoyed many traveling adventures with her family and friends. An accomplished musician, she loved playing her piano and guitar. But few things brought her more joy than her two dachshunds, Millie and Penny.
Yvonne is survived by her sister, Pearline MacKaron; and brother, Harry Tafoya. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Erissa MacKaron, Elisha Bentley, Isaiah and Joshua Tafoya, Melissa and Vanessa Sanchez, and Bailey Wood, as well as countless other family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Friends may visit Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the funeral and reception. Should friends desire, flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the local ASPCA chapter.
