Yuvonne Ray Hodgson Jeffrey, 59, died peacefully in her home Thursday night. She was born on October 15, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Roy Hodgson and Pearl Supulver; and the youngest of ten children. After graduating from Valley High School in 1971, Yuvonne married Ricky Jeffrey, of Albuquerque, on March 31, 1972. As part of Ricky's Air Force career, the couple lived in South Dakota, Japan and Texas, before returning to New Mexico. After graduating from NMSU-Alamogordo in 1988, Yuvonne worked as a nurse for Gerald Champion Memorial in Alamogordo and Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque until her retirement in 2006. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Jeffrey; her daughter and son-in-law, Tonia and Casey Goodwin of Forney, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Tracey Jeffrey, of San Diego, California; sisters Billie Harrison and Lorraine Patton, of New Mexico, and Dorothy Pauls, of Arizona; as well as three grandchildren, Lily and Tyler Goodwin, and Isla Jeffrey. Yuvonne enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and listening to Christian music. She was an avid lover of the Sandia Mountains and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Yuvonne touched the lives of those who knew her with her kindness and compassion.
