Yolanda Kay Tucker, age 69, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away quietly Thursday, July 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Yolanda is remembered for her love of family and friends, her compassion for others and her unrelenting commitment to anything she was involved in.
Yolanda was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. She was born on November 11, 1954, in Las Cruces, NM and grew up in Las Cruces, Lordsburg and Albuquerque. She was a 1972 graduate of West Mesa High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1976 from New Mexico State University. She was an avid Genealogist and a member of the New Mexico Genealogical Society. She was active in her community and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Patrick Tucker of Albuquerque NM; daughters, Christina and husband, Lewis Taylor of Virginia, Anna and husband, Ethan Shipp of Utah, Emily Tucker Abbott of Colorado; and son, Matthew and daughter-in-law, Elisha Mackay of Albuquerque; her twelve grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Katie, Natalie, Mackenzie, Micah, Leah, Jillian, Cody, Julie, Jonah, and Naomi. Yolanda also leaves numerous cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and cherished friends, (especially her cherished Ya Ya's).
She was preceded in death by her brother, David Cox, and her parents, Dellon and Kathy Cox as well as other cherished family members.
A celebration service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Woodmont Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 7100 Woodmont Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM at 3:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following the service.
