Yolanda Santos Pioquinto, age 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ed Pioquinto; children, Rainier Pioquinto and wife, Kari of Las Vegas, NV, Edward Pioquinto of Albuquerque, Lisa Azul and husband, Victor of Reno, NV, and Gina Martinez of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Keanu Azul, Michael, Matthew and Lia Martinez, and Jonah Brent Pioquinto; sister, Merla Klyne and husband, Michael; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgilio Santos and Cresencia Mendoza; and brothers, Melvyn Santos and Renato Santos. Yolanda was born in 1939 in the Philippines and married Ed Pioquinto in 1963. She moved to Hawaii in 1965 and became an American citizen in the 70's. Yolanda went to work at UNMH in 1976 in the Payroll department where she worked for 22 years. During her retirement she lived in Las Vegas, NV and Albuquerque taking care of her grandchildren. Yolanda loved dancing and Lobo Basketball. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, 8:30 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 1:30 p.m.
