Wilma Lyslo, 85, born in Sleepy Eye, MN to Erna & Myron Orth, passed away after a brief illness April 13, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Tillery and husband Gary; granddaughter, Katie Tillery; grandsons, Kerry, Kristopher and Kyle Tillery; brother, Daryl Orth; sisters in heart, Margaret and Kit; and many other family and friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Kermit; her parents, and her brother, Don. Wilma attended a teachers college in Minnesota, while Kermit served in the US Air Force in Korea. She enjoyed teaching kindergartners while Kermit attended the University of Minnesota. During Kermit's career in hospital administration, they lived in Minneapolis, MN, Austin, MN, Kansas City, KS and then Albuquerque where they ultimately retired. She volunteered for over 40 years with the Lovelace Auxilliary. Wilma was a gifted seamstress, designing and sewing Julie's wedding gown and dozens of Halloween costumes and pajamas for her grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. The family greatly appreciates the friendships she formed while living at the Montebello this past year. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Friday, April 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Prebyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122. Cremation has taken place and she will be joining Kermit at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
