William (Bill) M. Valigura, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away on Sunday, January 14 2024 at the age of 95. He was a gentle soul of quiet strength.
Born in Bay City, TX, Bill lived as a resident of Texas and New Mexico for all of his life. He met the love of his life, Virginia Longwood in second grade, and they were married for 68 years. He graduated from Markham HS and Texas A and I in Kingsville, TX with a Masters degree in Counseling and Educational Administration. His undergraduate degree was in Math Education. He also held certificates in plumbing and electrical and he earned a Contractors license. He worked his way through several jobs-ice factory, post office, Air Force, math teacher, counselor, assistant principal and principal. He retired from the Los Alamos public schools. He also built two homes, one in Texas and one in Los Alamos, NM. He was a very talented renaissance man. He was a member of St. Stephens UMC for several years. As a young man, Bill loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved reading and studying history.
Bill was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Virginia; his beloved mother, Edith; his father Ernest and his brother, Leo. He is survived by his son, Paul, and his wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Erin Wrobel (husband Joe) and Jordan Valigura (wife Amy) and six great-grandchildren, Luke, Will, Tate, Autumn, Aubrey and Theodore. He is also survived by his niece, Patsy Waldrop (husband Kirby) and nephew Clayton Francis (wife Linda) of Texas.
Bill resided at the Beehive of Bosque Farms, NM and we want to thank their staff for their loving, and heartfelt care. We also thank the staff of Luna del Valle Hospice.
