William M. Tucker entered this world on June 17, 1933, in Graham, TX, as William Dallas Moore, Jr. His parents were William Dallas and Opal Moore. He departed to the Heavenly Father on July 28, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. His family moved to Roswell, NM in May of 1948, and he has been a resident of New Mexico since that time and a resident of Albuquerque since 1987. Mr. Tucker's father, Dallas Moore, passed away during the first year of William's life. His mother later married Earnest C. Tucker who became the only father William knew. He often stated that Mr. Tucker was the best father a person could have ever asked for, and their relationship was one of mutual respect and great love. Upon his 21st birthday, he had his name formally changed to William Moore Tucker in honor of Earnest Tucker. William Tucker graduated from Roswell High School in 1950, and entered Eastern New Mexico University that fall majoring in business administration. In 1982, he completed the Administrative Law courses at the National Judicial College. William married the love of his life, Adelaide Carroll in Roswell in June of 1956. She survives him at the family home. They enjoyed traveling and just being together. They had two sons, John Scott and James Mark, who were the pride of their father's life. William entered the real estate business in 1964, and remained active in that industry the rest of his life earning many honors for his various contributions to the industry. He is a past member of the New Mexico Realtors Association, the Roswell Realtors Association, the Albuquerque Association of Realtors and the Hobbs Realtors Association. He was honored as Realtor of the Year by the Roswell Association of Realtors. Over the years he wrote numerous educational courses that were approved by the Commission, and was noted for his talents and abilities as a real estate instructor. He began teaching real estate for Kaplan Professional Schools in 1989 attaining the position of Senior Instructor. His greatest love was to teach others about real estate. At the time of his death, William was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, he was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Roswell, serving in numerous positions in that church. His love for young people was reflected by the years he taught Sunday school to the high school age members of the church and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 2 sponsored by the church. Scouting was another great love of Mr. Tucker. He served as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, District President, Area President, Regional President and National Vice President of the Boy Scouts of America. A smile was always on his face, his attitude about everything was always positive, he would help any and everyone he thought needed help, and he was most generous with his love for others. His sense of humor shined at all times in everything he did. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and the many real estate licensees he taught over the years.
