William was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Earl and Helen Taylor along with his siblings, Joanne Taylor (deceased) and Mary Helen Mattson.
He grew up in Burns Park with friends, Jim Baird, John Carver, Jon Dayton, Paul Dimond, Susan Duddy, Mark Gilson, Paul Gilson, Chip Hayes, Mark Hodesh, Paul Kelly, Leo Legatski, Howie Lippert, Bill Newton, Dave and Linda Newton, Ray Pittman, Kelly Rea, Dan Simons, Fred Slenger, Bob Tobias, Brian, Westfield, Nicholas Ford, and many others.
William earned an Undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in 1965. He attended Medical School at the University of Michigan and earned an MD degree in 1970. He served with the Internship Kaiser Foundation, Hospital in Oakland, California 1970-1971, and was Board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. William was a Staff ER physician at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California from 2001 - 2011, St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, California, Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, California, Chelsea Community Hospital, Detroit Receiving Hospital, Detroit, Michigan from 1981-1986, and Director of Emergency Medicine at Briar Memorial Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1972.
He was a longtime resident at Half Moon Lake, Michigan. His special interests included downhill skiing, bicycling, boating, travel, and the companionship of many Golden Retrievers.
He is survived by wife, Terry L. Taylor and family Daniel Baker and Loren Baker; grandchildren, Korben Baker, Benjamin Baker, Lyla Baker, and Avery Baker; and sister and family.
