William Murray "Mac" McCall, age 97, of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at home in Albuquerque. He was born on August 7, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert Elliott and Anna Day (McCurley) McCall where he was born and raised. He met and married Geraldine "Gerry" Boyles in Pittsburgh in 1941, a marriage of 73 years. He attended Carnegie Mellon University and joined the US Army and served as an officer in France and in the United States. After his military service, he attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he came to work for the University of California as a construction engineer supervising the construction of many different structures for Los Alamos National Laboratories. He retired in 1980 and moved to Albuquerque where they enjoyed their retirement years. He enjoyed softball, basketball and many other sports and was the Northern District Commissioner for ASA. He and Gerry were active birders and he loved to build wooden structures. Mac is survived by his son, William "Bill" McCall and wife Pat; daughter, Cam Moore and husband Earl, both of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kelley McCall, Kendall and Jonathan Moore, all of Albuquerque; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Day McCall and Mary Elizabeth Mayer; and one brother, Robert "Budd" Cameron McCall. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Blvd. NE, Albuquerque.
