William McIver "Mac" Lamb, age 95, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2014 after a long illness. Mac was welcomed into heaven by his wife, Viola, his daughters Lorinda and Cathy, his brother Dick, his granddaughter Alison, and many other beloved family members and friends. He is survived by his granddaughter Jennifer, his son-in-law Tony, his niece Kathleen, his nephews Tom and Dan and their spouses and children as well as other family members. Mac was born in Deming, New Mexico and spent time living in Lordsburg, Lake Valley, Hillsboro, Albuquerque, and Gallup. Mac married Viola in 1940 and shortly thereafter starting working for the Santa Fe Railroad first as a brakeman then as a conductor until he retired in 1979. In 1946 the Lambs moved to Gallup, New Mexico and then in 1952 became one of the founding members of the Gallup Christian Church. Mac had a great love for New Mexico and spent many wonderful years camping, fishing, and exploring its canyons and lakes. Mac also enjoyed writing, storytelling, gardening, and sharing his faith in Jesus. His family wishes to honor his life privately, therefore no services will be held.
