It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William S. Krum, Jr. (85), a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who departed from this world on December 24, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on January 21, 1938, in Reading, PA.
William, or Bill as he was affectionately known, led a life filled with love, family, and countless cherished moments. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Adele Krum, Sr., his sons Peter John and Marcus Andrew, and his wife of 52 years, Mary Rosalie (Bott).
Despite the profound losses he experienced, Bill's spirit endured through the love and memories he shared with his surviving family. He is survived by his children Marcy (Dan) Louton, BJ Terrell, and Mathew (Diane) Krum; grandchildren Amber (Kevin) Jerde, Brittany (Brad) Lindsley, Ben Louton, Chris (Jessica) Louton, Shane (Alysa) Louton, Julie (Will) Satterwhite, Scott (Sarah) Terrell, Elizabeth (Francis) Kim, Ashlyn Krum, Jonathan Krum; and great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Avery, Chloe, Ella, Matt, Sarah, Michael, Owen, Brody, Arabella, Trey, Wesley, and Wally.
Bill's musical journey began early in life, and it was in high school that he met his beloved Mary, who accompanied him on the piano. Their musical partnership blossomed into a lifelong love story, spanning 52 years of shared melodies and harmonies.
Bill & Mary exchanged their Pennsylvania Dutch roots for the vibrant landscapes of Albuquerque, NM, where Bill then graduated from the University of New Mexico and found solace in the Southwestern skies. A wonderful violinist and music enthusiast, Bill's passion for music led him to teach orchestra in APS, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his students.
In pursuit of his entrepreneurial dreams, Bill moved to Santa Fe to establish Krum Distributing in the early 1970s. His love for music prevailed as he returned to Albuquerque in 1988 to purchase Baum's Music. Bill was also a Master Mason and had an affection for old cars.
