William T. Hoskins was born on February 16, 1942, in Wilmington, Delaware to the parentage of the late William and Roberta Hoskins. He honorably retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service in August 1980. Among many of his dreams in life, he successfully created and led a band in Anchorage, AK, formerly known as “Soul Suite” for 10 years during his military service. After his military retirement, he and his wife, Dolores, became well-known owners and operators of “Montes Subs” in Albuquerque, NM from December 1990-November 2016. In 2004, William joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and turned his life over to Christ. He was the well-known Congas' player in the Church band and also provided photography services for the organization. He was affectionately known as “Mr. Bill” by many of his family and friends.
On November 14, 2016, William suffered a severe stroke that he fought to regain strength from for close to four long years. On September 9, 2020, the Angel of Silence entered his life. “Mr. Bill” was called from labor to rest. Although his journey through this life has ended, he will always be loved, remembered and deeply missed.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Roberta Hoskins; three brothers, John Hoskins, Robert Hoskins, and Leon Williams; along with one sister, Jackie Williams. Also preceding him was his cherished granddaughter, Cherrone Spurlock.
